Course Information
The Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering has been developed to provide those who work in the catering industry with knowledge of basic food safety, to meet the legal basic food training requirements and to improve the level of food safety in the industry.
Under UK legislation everyone who handles food as part of their job must be provided with suitable training relevant to their work activities. This qualification covers an understanding of: how individuals can take personal responsibility for food safety (which includes an introduction to the legal responsibilities of food handlers and food business operators), the importance of keeping him/herself clean and hygienic, the importance of keeping the work areas clean and hygienic and the importance of keeping food safe. Online Proctoring for the Level 2 exam
Online Proctoring is the supervision of exams for learners, undertaking a qualification virtually. Using the browser extension, Proctorio, learners can now undertake the exam element of this qualification from the safety of their own home, with a robust, quality assurance solution built-in to their assessment to provide effective invigilation.
We are now able to assess your learners securely and remotely with class sizes of up to 15 students. Delivering remote training and assessments will allow centres and learners to continue functioning as close to normal as possible during this turbulent time without putting individual safety at risk. Qualification Withdrawal
This qualification is being withdrawn and therefore no further learners can be registered after 31 March 2021. All certifications of learners already registered on the qualification must be complete by 31 March 2022.
